Mr. Y C Nanda
Mr. Y C Nanda, an alumnus of Delhi School of Economics, joined NABARD (India's National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) in its formative years in 1980's. After an initial career with the State Bank of India and the Reserve Bank of India, Mr. Nanda, was appointed Managing Director of NABARD in 1998 and went on to become the Chairman in 2000. He was also the Chairman of the Working Group on Agriculture Credit and Cooperatives for the 11th Five Year Plan. He has also been involved with a number of micro-finance institutions, rural development agencies, management institutes. Even after his retirement, his expertise was duly acknowledged by government of India, When he was appointed a full-time member of the National Commission of Farmers. Mr. Nanda has worked as a consultant to a number of international organizations like IFAD, UNOPS, GTZ and FAO and has served on a number of Government and RBI led Committees. With many accolades in the name of this mammoth personality, currently, Mr.Nanda is serving as the Chairman of Agriculture Finance Corporation.
